Lost GoPro is returned to its Jersey owner
When Chris Hesford lost his GoPro camera in the River Tweed, Australia, the chances of him getting it back were slim. But the action camera washed up on a beach and was picked up by Steve Carmody, a resident of New South Wales. He downloaded the pictures, posted a selection to Facebook on 20 February 2015, and asked his followers to help reunite the camera with its owner.
His post went viral, with newspapers and broadcasters around the world picking it up. It was only a matter of time before the plea would reach Jersey, where those who knew Chris Hesford recognised him from the pictures. Hesford was living in London at the time, but he organised for Carmody to post the memory card half way around the world so he could finally download his pictures.
