Jersey Heritage is officially registered
Jersey Heritage, which is responsible for many of Jersey’s historic sites, museums and archives, was officially registered on 3 June 1983. It now manages Mont Orgueil Castle, Elizabeth Castle, Hamptonne Country Life Museum and other notable sites around the island.
Although only registered in 1983, the trust had been founded two years earlier. It is independent of the States but receives an annual grant from it to support its running costs. Other income is received from admission fees at some of its sites.
